Studio Gold Dance is under the Artistic Direction of Dawn Meadows. A graduate of Dance and Theatre from Florida School of the Arts and The University of Utah, Dawn has been the Producer/Director of Arlington Dance Theatre's Adult Company, as well as Aldersgate Spirit Dancers. Dawn has served as Jazz Instructor at Ravel Studio, and as member of the Erika Thimey Dance and Theatre Company. Dawn is the Director of the Mount Vernon Sacred Dancers. She is a Certificate Candidate with the Isadora Duncan International Institute, and a member of the National Dance Education Organization.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY AND METHODOLOGY

In each student of dance, there lies the capacity for an exquisite moment of living art. If there is breath in the body, there is life revealed in movement. In dance class, the body must be trained in safe and sound technique. The mind must also be stimulated and challenged. At Studio Gold Dance classes are noncompetitive, giving opportunities for students to work together and appreciate individuality. In a supportive evironment, students are able to release their “inner dancer” and explore their own creative potential. In this world of stress and pressure, Studio Gold students will find joy and freedom as they express themselves through dance. By the end of a session, students will grow not only as dancers, but also as choreographers and creative artists.
